Making Progress

Made good progress on a couple of novels. Completed chapter 6 for Thunks in the Attic. Had to go check the doll house it's based on for a few details. The story is beginning to shape up and should be easier to complete. Although I say that cautiously since the unexpected can always happen.

Also wrote chapter 2 for the sequel to God's Gift. One part is well plotted out while the other has some points to be covered with others left open. The story will take some surprise twists and not go where the reader expects it to. That's a good thing both for the writer and the reader.

MileHiCon is fast approaching. That's the local Science Fiction Literary convention. Myself, along with many local and out of town writers will be there. It's in October.

Winter Trilogy & Gothic Romance

Over the weekend I added another chapter to Winter Emergence.  I AM going to get that book finished this year. It continues the adventures in Winter Awakening for Mute and Word Warrior plus Nan and Jojo. There's also two human story lines. I'm trying to get the second book done because the main character from the third book Winter Moon is getting very impatient.

I've also discovered a market for Gothic romances, which I have been dying to write. I'm going to revamp one of the stories in the Doll house stories. It'll have all the elements needed. A creepy old house, a mysterious town, a handsome stranger, and two elements I'm going to keep secret. Oh, and let's not forget there are cats, dogs and a bird in the story as well.

Doll Houses & Writing

Over the weekend our local museum sponsored the annual Miniature show. I spent most of Saturday touring the booths and discovering new little treasures I had to have to complete various in process projects. I also encountered one of the sellers who wanted a copy of my book, which of course, I pretty much promptly ran home and got for him. He was very grateful, and I think a bit surprised, that I had done that.

Granted I lived close to the hotel and it really wasn't that much trouble. Besides, I had lunch at home and then returned for a few more hours of shopping and talking to vendors I have gotten to know over the years. Not to mention looking at the various exhibits, local clubs and individuals love to show off their tiny scenes and doll houses, which are all a part of the fun. There is such creativity here.

Creativity I also use not just to build and decorate doll houses myself, but also use them in stories and upcoming planned books. Yep, you guessed it, all my houses have stories and eventually I'm hoping to turn them into a series of novels.
