Not a lot of progress on my novel this week, mostly because of the early hours I had to be in training. However, on the bright side, my next book is about half done and I have an idea on where to take the story next.

NaNoWriMo - Week 3
Week three. Not as much progress as I would have liked but the story is flowing along and looks as if it will travel a path I had not originally intended. That's okay. As long as it ends up where I want to end the second book in the Trilogy.
My total word count so far, just over 12,000 words. Am I disappointed I probably won't reach 50,000? Not really? NaNoWriMo has served it's purpose. I'm working on my book and pushing it onward.

NaNoWriMo - Week 2
I am happy to report that I have written a little over 10,000 words so far. Winter Emergence is now about to the halfway point. I'm using NaNoWriMo to push myself to finish the book.
I've also been watching the progress of my fellow writers. They're doing well and pretty happy with their progress so far.
I have taken time off to do things like job hunt, go to interviews and attend a job fair. I also went to my writers group, Words for the Journey. Very glad I did. I had a good time and enjoyed catching up with various folks.

NaNoWriMo
Okay, I signed up NaNoWriMo this year. Normally I don't, but I've got several books to finish and I'm hoping this will help drive me to complete at least one of them. Of course, I do take the weekends off to do other things, so that means that my word count for Monday-Friday has to be higher.
I'll keep everyone updated on how the month goes.

Rolling in
This week I've completed a rough draft for a new vampire story. Got the idea from a spooky special I watched about the Badlands.
Also, submissions for the two anthologies I'll be editing are rolling in. Three authors have extensions due to illness or other life events. Happens in the writing world. I should be seeing their stories within the next week. Luckily, I have to publisher deadlines...yet.
Am also thinking of writing for NaNoWriMo this year. Haven't signed up but thinking it might be what I need to get one book finished and get further into the next one.

Camp NaNoWriMo
Most are familiar with NaNoWriMo which happens every year in November. For the past couple of years I've participated finishing the first draft for 'Worth the Wait' at over 50,000 words (my first romance) and then the next session completing 'God's Gift' and several short stories. I'm uncertain if I can participate this year.
However, I got an email for Camp NaNoWriMo which will happen in June and also in August. Sooo...I signed up for June. My goal - finish 'Winter Emergence' or at the least the first draft.
Already, I have several who have requested I be in their virtual 'cabin' where we will hang out and encourage each other.
It'll be fun. As the month progresses. I'll keep everyone updated on how it's going.
Better yet - join me in camp!
